Cutting out on idle

Hi,

I have just bought a 2007 Mini Cooper S and there appears to be an intermittent fault where the car cuts out when on idle or when the clutch is held down for a period of time, for example waiting to pull out of a junction.

The rev’s seem to drop very low and before the car stalls sometimes the rev’s pick back up again but after this happens once or twice the engine management light flashes up and the car cuts out. This seems to happen more when the engine is warm rather than when it’s cold and does not happen all the time.

Has anyone else had a similar problem at all?

I had a similar problem with my 58' Mini, the revs dropping very low then cutting out, but it was happening whilst i was driving! All the info on it and what the problem was is on the thread called 'start-stop activating whilst driving'

I have exactly the same issue with my 2007 cooper. When its warm , as soon as I come to lights or a stop it cuts out, even restarting it will idle very low and then cut out again.
Did you find out what the problem was ? Any advice would be great.
