| 2nd Gen Brake Problem (Small Survey) I've got a 2009 Cooper D Clubman. It's now at the dealership with a brake/clutch fluid leak.
One morning I noticed a rather large puddle of yellow fluid under the car and traced the rather evident trail back to the brake system. Looking at the shared brake/clutch fluid reservoir it looks as though there is fluid leaking out of the black reservoir cap (at least when I run my hand under the reservoir, I feel brake fluid). The dealership disassembled the wipers to get at the cylinder and, looking inside, there appears to be a second leak where the brake booster attaches to the black master cylinder drum. So it's leaking in two places. The car is not even 3 years old yet and I baby it.
The dealership tells me this is the first time they have ever seen such a problem. This nonsense is costing me €400 because apparently both reservoir and booster have to be replaced together as a unit. (Is this true?)
My question is: has anyone had a similar problem with brake fluid leaking on a second generation Mini? |
