Water flowing noise

Hi

I've got n r56 mini which is about 7 months old with 8000 miles on the clock. Just recently I have noticed a water flowing which only occurs over 60mph and sounds like it is coming from the rear of the car. The noise sounds like water trickling. The car seems to be running fine apart from this noise. Any ideas

The only water going to the back is for the rear wiper. Do you have a sunroof? Do you have a motor in the rear as well as the front like the guy on Mini-Mania? Seriously most people hear the water under the dash which sometimes indicates air in the coolant system.

The only other liquid is the fuel tank. I was wondering if it could be a partially blocked fuel filter which is ok at low speed, but when you go t higher speed and more fuel is going though and making the noise.

Do you have any acceleration issues? Does it seem sluggish at all? With a pressurized fuel line you shouldn't hear fuel moving.

No there doesn't appear to be any acceleration issues. The noise only happens over 60mph and is more like a water trickling noise

Hello. Your water flowing noise is interesting. I once had a golf, bought new. It had a ticking noise from the wind screen area just about 40. The car went back to the dealers many times. They changed the wiper blades, the windscreen trim. They tried lots of stuff but it proved to be a stubborn problem.
It was eventually traced to a sycamore seed trapped below the wipers in a void (where the wiper motor sits). The sycamore seed for those who don't know, is the seed shaped like a blade that rotates like a helicopter when thrown in the air. It would appear that when the car reached 40, the airflow would be enough to make the blade 'take off and fly' thus creating the ticking noise as it collided with the body work within the void when rotating.

Just a thought.
