Angry BMW dealer ECU update on 2011 cooper s = less BHP?

Hi.

Took my wife's 2011 Cooper S in for an intermittent kangerooing fault where it has occasionally juddered when cruising.

BMW mini Huddersfield have followed Mini's instructions and done a 'software update'.

Result? The trip mileage is missing from the display and now only accessible by skipping though the display options using the stalk.

More importantly - its noticeably slower! Always thought it was a quick little car punching above its quoted 185 BHP but now it's not pulling as fast in gears and much slower to rev.

Dealership say "The software update, is not a remap of the hardware of the ECU" but is what all brand new minis have. But they are taking it back in to test.

So are newer minis (2012/13) slower than 2010/11 models?

Anyone rolling road tested theirs for BHP results?

Cheers.

ignore your butt dyno, they are notoriously inacurate, real dynos not only are far more accurate, but they also make corrections for changes in atmospheric conditions.

If you live someplace that seasons show up, you understand how essential an all-wheel drive car is in the winter. I wanted an automobile that would for me, so I found a site that let me compare. It showed me a car dealership in Houston that sold me the best BMW I have ever owned.
