Squeaking windows

The electric windows on my Mini Cooper make a terrible squeaking noise when operated. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

New seals
My mini first gen does it too. I used a silicone based spray and that helped it for a while but soon came back

Mine has this problem. Has developed over the one month of ownership. What do you reckon chances of the seals being replaced under warranty are?

Keep the windows clean, use something like Rain X on them, gives them a slippy surface, helps.

This happens to my car too, however, only when it's
very hot & sunny!
So, not very often then in this country!

Would using a clay bar on them then waxing them give them a 'smooth' surface?

I've used lots of things on my windows, polish, showroom shine, rain-x, and it seems the cleaner it is the worse the squeak. I think cleaning the felt gaiters at the bottom of the windows is they key.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

The felt wears off the rubber and then the rubber drags on the glass causing them to sqeak.

the squeaking window noise is caused be the window regulator guide clips. there are four per door. to replace them you will need to take off the door panel, the window and the regulator out. make sure ti use lube when installing new clips and cut one side of the clips at a 45 degree angle so it doesn't contact the metal when operated. if more info needed let me know.
