Just bought 2007 cooper and after 2 days alarm keeps going off shortly after setting it,doesn't seem to go off if I double click key fob, can any one help it's driving me nuts!
Double clicking in quick succession turns off the motion sensor and tilt portion of the alarm system so something there must be triggering it??
Maybe something keeps rocking the car, passing vehicles etc?
Hi, thanks for replying. Iv been monitoring the car all week to see if I can see any triggers but it just goes off for no reason, car parks, driveways, large empty areas. Day or night, rain or dry The alarm will go off shortly after I leave the car except when I double lock so far at least. Gona try and disconnect the motion sensor some how coz I have a feeling it's that??
Tilt sensor on a 2007 on car is in the scuttle below the front windscreen, take off the wipers and remove the plastic trim, its under that.
Ultrasonic motion sensor is in the roof switch panel on a hatch/clubman and behind each door trim panel in the convertible.
You say that you just bought it. Was it from a dealer, if so, take it back. Mini dealers or otherwise would give you a warranty of some sort. If purchased privately, contact the seller to see if it had problems before you picked it up.
Alarm still going off, come to conclusion it can only be tilt sensor or movement sensor cos alarm is ok if I double click, any one know how much these parts cost to replace? And does it need doing at the main dealer? Tried looking online for these parts but not having much luck!
Thanks for that ,since last quote alarms been going off on double click for no reason, could be anything? I think its time to bite the bullet and take it to the main dealer to get robbed blind! just want it sorted !
