Ireland Complete Breakdown :( Electrical??

Mini Cooper 1.6 Petrol 2006 model...

ok so my purple mini cooper was booked into a man to do paint correction and buff the car to take scratches out of it! costing between 250-300 pounds. through the week, the man called to say my power steering was away in the car...lifted the car and the man explained he cleaned the car inside out..including under the bonnet i asked the man did he power hose it and he said no, he had spent 5 hours with a tooth brush... so heading down the road home and i have no power steering, the lights turn off, the radio switches off and the speedo dies on me..later the car just stops..total electric failure finally get towed home and check the fuses and all are fine...power steering is electrical too so its not the pump..also altenator belt is fine so im completely lost!

what do you think it is?
and also do you think this man has caused the problem?
what would you do if it is down to the car cleaner?!

HELP

THANKS

I take it your Mini is a 2006 Mk1/1st Gen?
It maybe someone has power washed/steam cleaned the engine bay forcing water/moisture into power steering pump electrical connectors or disturbed them (located down back of engine bay). Mini's are well known for electrical glitches caused by moisture......it may take some time to completely dry out and return to normal. Or it could well be just coincidence and your power steering pump has failed taking out some other electrical items in the process as sometimes happens......if so replacement pump should bring car back to normal.

They might not have power washed it but steam cleaned it instead which can be just as bad for moisture getting into components?
Bet they used a power cleaner of some type, cant see folk these days using elbow grease its just too hard for them, if they havent got a machine and it doesnt make a noise it doesnt get done.
They should wrap the electrical components with a plastic bag first.
Ive never seen anyone clean an engine bay using a toothbrush though, was it a Fixodent one?
Sneak by their place when they arent looking and watch the power wash being used.
