Help Headlights Main Beam Flickering

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and my partner has recently purchased her second Mini Cooper S and this time it is a works We are really pleased with the car and love it but we have found that the headlights flicker when we activate Main Beam We bought the car second hand so not sure of the actual extras on it but I am pretty sure it has HID lights and also the adaptive lighting as it has the A one back on the light stalk.

So my question is has anyone ever came across a similar issue or are there any suggestions on resolving this issue or anything to check?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Need to know whether they are HID xenons or halogens.

If HID, then you'll have to visit the dealer for a check as the voltage used to operate the HID's is quite high and can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

The "A" on the light stalk normally means its got "Automatic" headlights, ie they turn themselves on when the day light level drops below a certain point when "A" mode is selected on the stalk.
If they are adaptive it means they steer to follow the direction the cars steering in.
As for flickering it could be a loose or dodgy connection but as said dont mess with the headlights if they are HID without disconnecting the battery as the operating voltage is dangerously high.
