Washer Fluid Warning Light

Got a problem with the washer fluid warning light intermittently coming on at startup but the tank is within an inch or so of full.

Presume there is a float switch in the tank that might be sticky or faulty or it's a wiring problem. Do I need to remove the tank or the wheel arch liner to get to the wiring or can it be reached under the bonnet?

57 Cooper Hatch newly acquired. (FSH low miles, drives like new)

Eventually found the info on the Mini TIS disc.

Printed it all out then two weeks later found the fault had disappeared, maybe because the car had recently sat unused for a few months.

Conclusion was the low temperatures had turned the contents of the lower part of the washer tank to an icy mush, holding the level switch in a low level condition.

Adding new winter strength fluid enabled the washer pumps to continue to work but until the temperatures rose and there was a bit of agitation it didn't fully mix and the level switch float was frozen in its low position.
