Hi
Has anyone had the recent Mini dealer ecu flash for a R56 LCI July 2011
build. And noticed a strange not very loud but noticeable metalic
click from the engine area when letting the clutch up to set off
like something metalic hitting a bump stop. It doesn't do it if you
just rev the engine. You have to be letting the clutch out while pressing
the acelarator to set off. It also doesn't do it if you just push the clutch
In and out without pressing the accelerator. The two have to be done together.
Thanks

What next?!?

Yes! I have been hearing that very same noise on my 07 R56 after some work I did. This is the only reference to it that I have found. Unfortunately I have no idea what it is.
I just DIY replaced my valve cover (PCV failure), all four boot coils and did the ecu flash.
It is running great but that noise is concerning.
I also had the flywheel, clutch (banshee noise) and timing belt tensioner (death rattle) all replaced last year.

I love this car but thinking I'm going to trade it in for a Honda before any other "infamous issues" arise.
