disappearing coolant?

I'm new to the mini world but I am loving my car more and more every day. I bought my used 2008 mini cooper s in late October.

Anyway, I keep losing coolant. The coolant light came on a couple weeks ago so we checked it and it was almost empty so we filled it up and a couples days later we checked it just to be sure and it was almost empty again. I called mini but they can't get me in to look at it until after the new year and I'm kinda concerned about it.

Has anyone had this issue? Is this something I should be worried about? What could be wrong with my poor car?

Any signs of a leak? i would be checking hoses/raditors for any visable leaks, also when you park up overnight slip some cardboard under your car then check it the next morning for signs of a leak and this will give you a general area to check.

if you don't have any leaks in the engine bay then the only two places i can think of would be -

A) Heater matrix (car steaming up recently/soggy carpets)
B) It's going into your oil (i.e head gasket issue)

Start with checking for a leak and go from there
