United-Kingdom Push button door lock rattle

Hi all, long time reader, first time poster!

I have a 2010 MINI Cooper Clubman and it's a great motor. I bought it 4 months or so ago from a MINI dealer under the MINI cherished scheme and sent it back recently because of a rattle on the rear seatbelt assembly.

The dealer fixed the rattle and returned it, only for me to find it's now rattling more frequently from the passenger side door lock push button. If the button is really forced in, the rattle stops (although it soon works its way back up and starts rattling again).

Just wondering if anybody has any suggested fixes for this which can perhaps avoid me having to take it back to the dealer?

Thanks in advance

*tumbleweed* ;-) does anybody actually know how the push button is fitted? I was thinking that if it's a screw fitting I might be able to screw it on tighter but I don't want to force it if it isn't.

Not sure if it's the same on a normal hatch r56, but if you mean the lock pins, I resolved mine by taking the door card off, wrapping the wire part with self adhesive felt, and doing the same around the opening for the lock pin. This was a car less than 3 years old that the main dealer were unable to resolve all rattles properly.

Thanks for replying. I feared that it'd require me to take the door card off. Slightly paranoid about causing more rattles with my clumsy repair skills!
