R56 Sunroof will Open.. But not close!

As stated in title.. sunroof opens perfectly via button.

However, if you push it to close it - the motor works for a sec to go forward and then stops. It sounds like it's clunking on something.. hence why stopping..

Any ideas??

Does it open back by itself? In most of the cases, the ECU thinks that there is something trapped (high friction) so it will stop the motion and automatically reverse it.

Try to close the roof, by pushing and releasing the button in quick successions. This way you disable the anti-trap mechanism and you can see if the problem is that or not...

If it is, I recommend greasing your rails and then re-calibrating the sunroof's ECU. Since it measures voltage to determine friction, a not-so good battery can also be the cause.
