United-Kingdom seat problem ? Help

Can anyone help please? Has anyone noticed any movement in their front seats ?I have a 2010 cooper d. The base of the seats are fine and locked into the runners. But the backrests move back and forth and can be felt when braking. Its as if the mechanism may be worn by people pushing back on the seats. I have been to the dealer and a salesman said this could be a safety issue and asked their service guy to have a look. He then dismissed this and said all mini seats are the same. Are they? Could anyone tell me if theirs are the same please?

Hi there Roppa. I have a 2010 Dooper Convertible with normal seats. Just checked mine for you and they are as tight as a drum, no movement at all

From what you are saying it sounds like there is something definitely wrong with yours. You don't think it is the cable stretched that lifts the catch or the spring that pulls it back do you, is there any play in the seat back release handle?

I have taken a video for you of me pulling my seat, I'll see if I can work out how to upload it for you.

I don't appear to be able to upload videos. If you want to PM me your email address I'll be happy to send it to you.
