Question R56 cooper S wheel speed sensor fault - need genuine mini part?

Hi all,

Have a fault showing front driver side wheel speed sensor

After fitting a new 28 part the problem still existed which was to no surprise as the part fitted was a slight different shape to one I removed from the car

The part which came out of the car, the end which goes into the back of the hub had a slanted end on it whereas the new one I bought the end was straight. This part was showing up as the correct one for the car though so has anyone else experienced this?

I have a part ordered from mini at a cost of 83.80 which I hope sorts the problem.

Anyone here know if the genuine part is needed and that the cheaper copies do not sort this problem?

Thanks
