Serious Issues - DIY Addtional JCW Gauge Install
So, trying to be a smart Ar... I decided to myself to install the JCW Addtional gauges / instruments myself rather than pay a dealer £150 to install.
Seemed simple enough, couple of wires to throw about, nothing to major, but by god it had turned into a living nightmare.
I need any help at all, i think the fault lies with the footwell control module, but any advice you can give will be really appreciated.
So, battery disconnected installed kit, Rewired plug behind steering wheel and wired the two cables to the correct pins on the footwell control module.
Put the Key in ignition. and wipers came on and wouldn't switch off, no power to gauges at all. Started car, and warning light up for DSC. Windows responding to switch, and on door opening, they go down, close door, they do not go back up!
Checked, checked and rechecked, all all functions working, lights etc, but same faults no matter what i do. All is in order, i decided to remove and go back to stock to see if it was the install causing the issues, but low and behold even with stock wiring, same issues - I have read a couple of other threads on NAM, and problems all point to FCM, but i have checked and checked again can find nothing wrong, and to top it all off i've snapped one of the crimps within the X1880 plug behind the steering wheel, it has not been a good day.
