Engine idle , cuts out , no acceleration

Hi everyone , i need a little advice am new to the mini forum .

I just purchased a new mini cooper s 57 plate 23k , its hardly been driven and has had a new engine put in around three years ago .Its done around 1000 miles since engine change .

Every morning and any other time where the car has been sitting for a while it has difficulty starting it needs approx 3-6 starts and during those starts the engine judders and eventually stalls also if you press the throttle there will be no response.,then after a few failed starts it will fire up as if there is nothing wrong and the car will function well for the rest of the day.
Initially when it first happened i called the AA and it came up with a a coil failure .

I am quite stumped and would really like some good advice on this matter .

thanks

Hi ya

I would get a good fuel system/injector cleaner though it first use something like bg44k and use some v plus in it. Do you here the fuel pump priming ?

Then I would be looking at your normal service parts filters, plugs etc for condition when was it last serviced ?
Then running a full diag on it with bmw dis looking at sensors, fuel pressures etc

It could be anything from a bad high pressure fuel pump or bad water temp sensor, but with out running a proper diag on it you could be chasing your self.
