I have an odd fault with my 2010 mini one
When I press the central locking the car locks the doors and boot, I unlock doors are open but the boot wont?
There is no pressure on the boot opener (above the number plate) whether it is locked or not
The only way to open it is by pressing the boot open button on the key fob, I've never used this button in 4 years
I am presuming that the locking is working and that the switch is at fault?
Is there a solenoid in there?
In the settings menu, you can set the fob unlock button to unlock just the driver's door or all the doors/boot. It would be worth checking that that is set as you want it. And I think the setting is unique to each key fob, so you may want to do it with both.
"But I've never changed it" doesn't count as there are criminals who break into you car, leaving no trace, just to alter menu settings. They are the same people who used to break into houses to cancel VCR record settings.....
There is a motor with gears that operate the latch...no solenoid. Mine froze up recently and I had to access bottom panel inside car to un screw lock. A piece of plastic off the "U"
hook on the hatchback came loose and lodged permanently in the lock. Had to cut off with sawsall.
