I have a 2011 1.6 Mini. The fan comes on within a few seconds of starting engine even when completely cold and stays on for 7-10 minutes after switching off engine. This never used to happen before, what can it be?
Needs a thermostat 100%. If its under warranty just take it in to the dealer. If not take it in to the dealer and tell them to put a thermostat in and clear the faults. The check engine light may or may not be on, but faults will be present.
Got a mechanic to check fault codes, he says the coolant sensor is gone and quoted £118 for the part from mini, I check on eurocarparts they sell it for £16! I believe it is located in the thermostat, can I replace this myself? It is a 2011 1.6 clubman Thanks
