Door Panels

Don't like what they're done to the bezel (pull-handle, armrest surround) on the door panel. Part of it is "split" into the rear quarter panel:

The 1st generation rendering is much cleaner:

My issues with the new cards, front and rear were a) Too small in terms of storage. and b) My knee found itself resting on the upper speaker a lot, didn't like a good layout.

Thanks Paul ... this one shows how the bezel is cut off:

A "Work In Progress" ... something it needs:

Think it looks quite sleek myself Sorta connects the front to the back..

Not sure about that upper speaker though if your knee is going to be resting on it all the time or hitting it in corners..

Some say he loves gaming and that he also loves house work..... All we know is, he's called The ScottyB!

I'm guessing that they're thinking of two different speaker locations, where it is now and higher up.

I can't see any reason to have two speakers of apparently the same size right next to each other. Wouldn't make sense.

It was acceptable in the 80's

The design seems to be largely unchanged in terms of speaker location from quite early prototype shots though.

So they had the two speaker pods on those shots too then?

Actually, looking again it looks like the bottom speaker is bigger than the top.

Must be bass and mid in there.

The upper tweeter near the door handle has gone, maybe the higher of the two door speakers is replacing that?

Whatever it is is gets in your way on S bends, chicanes and tight corners!

But it handles dutch talk radio quite nicely.

I believe the tweeter is now in the dash.

I hated the door panels when I first saw the spy shots some months ago! But now, I must say that I really like how they look! I especially like the simplicity of the new armrest, the way it begins at the speaker and how it fades out to the back! I feel that it looks much cleaner and simpler.

the door panels look good, but not very functional in terms of storage ... my 03 seems to have the most room of all the new models it seems .. and ease of getting to things in there.

it also seems that the new door will will hug the side of the dash from the look of the mold in the front of it.
