If you have the sat nav I've noticed that it says DVD (DVD logo) on the volume control panel. Will it play DVD's or is that just there for the Sat Sav software?

If just for the software then why put the logo on the dash?

Hope it plays DVD's...... bit a blue for Dads (The mrs -----> )

United-Kingdom Sat Nav Dvd Available?

Just wondering if anyone has seen the sat nav working in their car or demonstrator yet. My dealer said they didn't have the dvd's for unit yet!

The volume controls (out lined in red) remove and the DVD slot is exposed behind them.

Found this out having a play.

I have seen it working and had a go with it when I was at the factory a few weeks ago

But the same was said at my dealers, they didn't have the disk to let me play with it again

Sat Nav Postcode Entry

I was just wondering whether the new R56 Sat Nav system allows full postcode entry. I have ordered Sat Nav on my new Cooper S so it would be useful to know.

It's wicked! Makes your interior look FANTASTIC at night, especially the reflections off the chromeline surround I have it on Perspective view all the time, even if I'm popping out for some milk!

I know people will disagree, but it's almost worth the money for the effect it has on the looks of the interior alone.

Marcus,

You are so right. The sat nav makes the interior imo. The addition of the extra dvd slot breaks up the centre stack area nicely and makes it look less sparse. As for the speedo - what can i say. It just looks fantastic. The PDC on the screen looks great too.

It was the second thing on my options sheet after the Chili pack. I don't even need the sat nav - I have Tomtom, but the change it makes to the interior is worth every penny.

My dealer thought I was mad turning down the aero kit in favour of the sat nav. I just know I'm right.

the only real reason I specced it is cos I don't like the new speedo so much (plus it means I don't have to have a TomTom stuck on my windscreen)

I have Satnav on my current facelift MCS. It does look wicked and when you driving at night it lights up the cabin in style.

I have actually started to find it irritating at night, resulting in switching off the screen while i drive. Especially when it is pitch black outside, it is not too bad on roads with street lights.

Would i spend so much money again for SATNAV, no not in a mini!
1) You do not get your money back when you sell the car.
2) Navigation gets outdated quickly by Garmin and TomTom systems.

But when i think about it, if i had the extra cash i would get it now on my MCS07 because it would look amazing and no other reason. Throw away money.

MINI, it is a way of life.
