No lump in U.S. seats

Motoring File is reporting that seats for the R56 sold in the U.S. won't contain the bulge in the middle. Something to do with a U.S. requirement for having an air bag sensor in the front passenger seat.

Guess we'll have to find another way to keep our legs apart while driving.

The US and Euro seat bottoms have been different since Jan 2005 builds

I think you missed the point of the article. It's about the R56, not the previous generation MINI. If you want more information on the US market seat changes over the years, be sure to check out these MF articles from a few years back:

I was just pointing out that the seat bottoms being different is not a "new phenomena"

I did have the date of the 1st generation seat bottom change wrong and have corrected it in my previous post and in the Chronology of 1st Generation US MINI Changes.

Angry mad

What really makes me mad it that we never get the nice JCW seats because also of US standards. My question is why don't they make some JCW seats that meet the standards so we can buy them in the US.
