Speed Cameras on R56 Sat Nav

Early days perhaps, but has anyone managed to modify the 2007-1 Navigation DVD to include Speed cameras?

The DVD directory structure and config files seem to be different from the previous mini.

I've followed a really useful thread in the R50 etc forum to understand the basics and work out how to make the mod with the 2007-1 dvd I have. I can add items to the POI menus, but it never shows any items.

It looks to me like the .idx and .url files may not be right for this version of the nav software. I did have to make a change to the header in these files to point to the right folder so this could be a problem......

Any help would be appreciated

Googled a little bit more...... and then a bit more and eventually found Adding Speed Camera POI to your BMW Professional NAV DVD

I've tried this out tonight and it works a treat

Problem solved.

Great pics Rob, cheers.

Was it easy to mod the dvd?

Just a little worried, don't want to screw up the nav as soon as I get it.

Hi Dave, You won't screw anything up. You take the original nav dvd and extract the contents to an image. Then, working on the image you modify some of the config files to add then menu item for the cameras and add the files for the camera locations and the graphic icon.

Once you've made the changes you burn the image to a blank dvd (or DVD-RW, although I've not tried this) and put it in the mini and see if it works. If not, then nothing lost you just put your original dvd back in and everything is as before.
