Scotland Pairing 2 Bluetooth Phones

I have ordered the factory Bluetooth kit and was wondering if it is possible to pair two different phones to the car! If is is what happens if both phones are in the car at the same time?

Alibev,

I currently have a Parrot system and this does allow you to pair one more than one phone.

You assign a default status to the phone that you are most likely to use. Should you then ever be in the car with both phones the bluetooth will then give priority to the default phone.

I know this does not answer your question in regards to the Factory Bluetooth but I can only imagine that it works on the same principle.

Great, thanks. I kind of thought that might happen. I guess I will have to fiddle with it when the car comes. The problem will occur when both my wife and I get in the car together with our phones. The best solution would be for the car to ask which phone would I like to pair with.

In theory you could.

BUT...

1) I doubt that you would like to try and pair your phone while on the motorway and,
2) The other car's phone must be within 10 meters and set to be "visable to all" - otherwise no chance.

Just to confirm, its the same with the "factory fit" bluetooth. It remembers any phones that have been paired with it, but you can set the default one, which gets priority.

Dillythedog,

Sounds sensible to me and actually quite practical. I had visions of my wife, the car and I getting horrilby confused as to which phone was connected to the car. Come to think about it if I make hers the default phone she can pay for the calls.

Yes you can use two or more mobile in your car, but, the first one connected with the handsetfree has got the prority, and of course works if also the other one are in the car at the same time. I 've got a nokia CK-1W in myMCD.
