Question for those with Sat Nav & Ipod Adaptor

Simple question really.

Can you, and have you actually tried to play an MP3 CD in the Boost CD player?

The Ipod link uses CD1,CD2, ...... CD6. This leaves CD for the actual CD player.

I can play an audio CD but NOT an MP3 CD. This is obviously not right, but I'm trying to work out if it's a software problem or a physical problem; affecting everyone or just me.

Marcus, have you tried it?

ipod & mp3 cd

Dave,

I have also the sat nav & ipod adapter in my R56.

I will give it a try too with a mp3 cd and let you know.

One other thing I have problems with and maybe you have experience with already is the limitation of the adapter of having a max of 255 folders.

I have 450 artists on my ipod and thus giving me problems when using them in my mini.
I can ofcourse make extra folders which I name for instance ABC and put al the artists starting with ABC in it, but maybe there is another way? or is there new software somewere?
Also browsing to the bottom of the list is anoying.

What is your experience?

Gtz, Rob

Sorry El Fish,

I should have posted an update.

My car was reprogrammed this week with the latest ipod adaptor software and it now plays MP3 CD's.

As for the problems you have - I don't have more than 255 artists so it's not an issue for me (That is a lot of artists my friend )

Browsing to the bottom of the list is a pain in the ass, but then I haven't got so far to scroll

It didn't cost me anything, as it was a warranty issue to fix the MP3 CD problem.

Geez. I have over 1000 artists (lots of compliations)... I guess I'm screwed. Maybe I'm better off with a Belkin solution..

Yes you may have many artists, but in Album view you should see your compilation in the list and you select it from there. I assume there will be a Max of 255 albums though.

Time for a bit of iPod housekeeping me thinks

Ouch!! This shouldn't happened in the first place.. I have an 80Gb iPod.. need I say more?
For what it is costing me, the kit should be able to cope with the number of artist..
Damnit.. should I cancel my oreder for the kit

I am hoping on a software upgrade to have this fixed.

Indeed it is strange that they think you have enough of 255 artists when having a 80gig ipod.
Also scrolling down the list with the joystick is no joy at all. It takes ages.

I also find it a bit careless of MINI not adding some kind of a holder in the glovebox for it.
Its just a cable you got leaving your ipod swinging

To end with some possitive feedback; having the ipod integrated with your sat nav is still great!!

Get the glovebox divider from the new mini accessories book. OK it's another £27 but it holds your iPod in place.
