| iPod interface... Hi all, Finally collected my MCS yesterday afternoon....glad I went for Dark Silver and although I've not gunned it yet - it's like a rocket! Pulls well in 6th gear! I will post some pics when I stop driving it around.... Anyway, back to topic. I had the iPod interface fitted and when the ipod is connected the Mini logo comes up in the display - but on the Audio selection there is only Radio, CD and AUX. From what the manual states, there should be CDC for the ipod. The ipod software had a recall last week, which delayed my collection of the car until yesterday. Just wondered what other people who have it fitted are seeing? A little confusing. Will be calling the dealer later today to find out more. Just wondered if there was something else to do? I've reset my ipod, and updated itunes to the latest version. I've read it takes a bit of time to upload and read the data, but thought I left it long enough last night. Will try again later. Thanks for any ideas/suggestions. Aaron R56 Mini Cooper S / dark silver / black punch interior / chili pack +more arrived: 17-Apr-2007 |

| Hi Telboy, Not fixed yet - away over the weekend, so it's not scheduled to be sorted out until next Sat 5th May. Apparently it just needs to be connected to the computer. It's supposed to have already had all the software updated, so I've no idea what they forgot to do. You would think they would check it before the car is given to the customer..... | Hi, Newbie here. I've been struggling hard to find out how the actually ipod interface works and how to use the radio control buttons to navigate around. As u guys say, it is a pricey piece of kit and want to make sure I will get what I want. Dealers and Mini customer services have all given me contradictory info - saying this is for previous ipod interfaces etc Anyway what i normally would use my ipod for is to shuffle tracks but I like the option to repeat 1 track if I come across a track I want to play repetitively until I am bored of it and then I go back to shufle mode. Is this just a simply button to press from shuffle to repeat 1 track to shuffle again? I am enquiring for the new ipod interfaces for a 07/57 plate. Also I hear the CD1 would be for the playlists. How do I navigate down the playlist? Is this via a simple up/down button? Any info on how this ipod interface actually works would be great. Ta |

| Hi DooperDummy, I have the ipod interface, and it's all working fine. Also have the multifunction steering wheel, so it's very easy to flick through the play list. You select the ipod through the Audio function - when installed it will add the CD-C (CD-changer) as another audio option along side the radio and regular CD player. When you select the CD-C it will load up the ipod - takes a few seconds depending on how many songs you have on there. From memory, each CD goes down the same list as your ipod, so: CD1 Playlists CD2 Artisits CD3 Albums CD4 Songs "How do I navigate down the playlist? Is this via a simple up/down button?" - you use the jog dial on the stereo module to navigate up and down the lists, and then push to select the desired playlist - then, just like the ipod the playlist will expand and show all the tracks. I have found it pretty easy to use, and apart from the initial software problems when the interface was installed (there were two recalls!) - it all seems to work fine. ps...i must admit i have not tried looking for a shuffle function - but i will check it out... | Checked the manual....and also checked the car, forgot there is an option when it's connected (i've not used it)...but you will have one of the function buttons on the radio with 'RND' : RND - turns on Random Play for the current folder in random order. The first playlist when you connect is CD1 (all the songs & playlists) then you can put it on random by pressing the RND button. When it first loads it will always be CD1 (all songs) and it will start playing the first song in your ipod. If you press the right arrow on the stereo or multifunction steering wheel, it will play the next song on the list, but random play continues. FYI: CD6 lists all songs in the 'current selected folder'. Hope that helps. R56 Mini Cooper S / dark silver / black punch interior / chili pack +more arrived: 17-Apr-2007 |

| Hi, Did you manage to get your ipod interface fixed in order to display CDC? Just picked up my mini yesterday, he's gorgeous but have had the same problem with the ipod interface which is a real let-down. Hoping to get it booked in soon, but is it fixable yourself? If not, does it take the dealer a long time to fix it or is it like a 5 min job? Ta |
