I'm struggling to get the phone book from either my N73 or my wife's N95 downloaded onto the phone kit on my new Mini. Everything else seems to work on my N73 - my wife's N95 has been paired but we've not tried much with that yet. The voice recognition works on the bluetooth kit and you can put address book entries in there, which is quite nice, but I just can't get it to download my address book from my phone. I can live without the phonebook but it's a shame I can't get it to work. Would be interested to hear how other N-Series users have got on. 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works (photos on Flickr)

There's a sticky over at NAM that's covering reported Bluetooth compatibility, the same problem with the N95's phone book as been reported there.

As far as I know it is someting to do with the phones OS (=symbian) and the bluetooth. I do have a N70 with symbian and I've managed to do something about it: there is a Nokia application (I downloaded it from w w w.nokia.es/A4181551 ) that once installed and ran from your phone, will transfer the phone book to the car. What I am not sure yet is if it will keep it syncronised when you add new entries. hope it helps!

The transferring is performed by running the pre-installed Nokia download (sys file) from your phone. Basically, the steps I followed (from "Nokia_610_contacts_sync_instruction_guide.pdf " at w w w.nokia.es/A4181551 ) are: - download and install correct sys application to phone. - delete pairing of mobile phone with car. - start running the installed sys application from phone. - Pair devices again with the contact download sys application running After a few minutes the transferring stops and your address book has been copied to the car. I yet got to check its full functionality, as I donīt get the name of the person calling but just its number.

It works! I downloaded and installed that file, and managed to transfer my contacts database from the phone to the MINI. I have a Nokia E61 which runs Symbian S60 3rd edition; the same as the N95. Thanks!

Also works with Nokia N73, so I can pretty much do all I need now with the BT and it has saved me buying a new phone. I cant dial a number either with voice interface or using the radio controls but can dial address book entries. Here is alternative address to download europe.nokia.com/A4160018

N95 Bluetooth I have a Nokia N95 which I can get to work with the Mini bluetooth hands free kit. Generally it works very well but after about 20mins or so of use it drops the connection. To get it re-connected the phone has to be turned off and back on. The phone has been back to Nokia and has been repaired and it still had the problem. I have now a replacement N95 phone and it has the same problem. For the 4 weeks the phone was being repaired I used my old 6230i which worked without fault. Has anyone else had the same problem. Is it likely to be the car kit although as the 6230i worked fine i think not.

Do you mean 20 mins of talking or 20 mins of just having a bluetooth connection? I don't do 20 min phonecalls but haven't had a problem with my N95 dropping a bluetooth connection on me so far. 1988 Mini 'Designer' & 2008 MINI Cooper 'S' Works (photos on Flickr)

Nokia N78 blue tooth to Mini I have contacted Nokia regarding connectivity with the Mini and was told that the like posted here is for Spain and would not work in the US. Has anyone had any experience syncing a N78 with a Mini. Not sure if it matters but I have a 08. Thanks

try it. won;t hurt it if it doens;t work. In Australia it works. A phone is the same software any where in the world, and mini bluetooth should be the same. it may take a few goes to get the data across. but should work 1968 Mk1 Morris Cooper S 1310cc Downton Lake Green - White 1974 Leyland Mini 1098c Country Cream 2008 MINI Cooper S Chilli Pepper White - Black Roof
