16gb Sandisk USB stick doesn't appear to work via USB

Hi,

I have a 4gb usb stick that works fine in the USB slot but i've bought a 16gb sandisk stick and the mini doesnt seem to like it, it just says "LOAD" under the usb option and then changes to " - - " as if to say it cant see it.

Has any one seen this?

Is 16gb too big?
Have i put the folders in the wrong format/order?
Could it be formatted wrong?
Have I wasted £20!

help!

Hi Rocco,

I have used a 16G stick in mine and it was ok most of the time, Mine is a CnMemory one. Only problem I had is sometime I had to select USB when I stated the car as it would go to the radio.
There is a link to a list on here which shows the Sticks that mini as tested.
hope this helps
Pete

Sorry should have mentioned i've looked at that PDF, from what I can see its only for actual MP3 players not USB sticks (sony, apple, creative). The only sandisk product is the Sansa Clip player...

i'm wondering if its down to the software on my stick. Maybe its being to cleaver assuming its going to work with a PC. Maybe I should format it?

Good to know your 16gb works though!

Back to my 4gb unit - at least that works!!!!

HI Rocco,

I work in the media Duplication industry, in teh technical department for one of the biggest media duplicator manufacturers in the world In the past year I've had soo many problems with USB devices not being recognised in our units, not through the fault of unit, just down to poor quality control where these items are mass manufcatured.

The only brand I could reccommend would be Kingston - they are utterly reliable and I have never had a problem with them

Jon
