Smile Rear Speaker in R55/56

Hi just a quick question.
I am thinking about getting this new alpine upgrade for my Clubman but i t looks like it does not come with rear speakers!
What size are the speakers in the back? And who thinks it would be possible to connect them up to the alpine amp and rest of the system? Im thinking about getting two alpine 6x9s in the back which im assuming they are so they will match with the rest of the system.
What are BMW playing at with not bringing out the Harmon Kardon System that was awsum!!

Any help would be great!
Thanks

Mark

how many channels is the amp?

if i were you i would run the 6x9s off a separate amp - this will make sure you get the best sound! if you have the fronts running on the same amp you wont be getting much bass to the rears, which is the point of having 6x9s

Alternatively you could get a separate amp and a sub in a box setup and just take the 6x9's out completely, and put the amps where the 6x9's would have been.

It's a Mini Adventure.

hiya everyone , just got myself a 09 plate cooper s , at the time i bought it looked at the hi-fi upgrade but decided i could probably upgrade it for less money than the upgrade with better sound. am looking to upgrade the rear speakers (6x9's) i think does anyone know how to get the grilles off as dont really wanna break one in the process and mini dealer seems not to want to help at all. not knowing a lot about ice myself could anyone suggest a good set of speakers and a good amp to run them on? any what cables i would need to connect it upto to the existing standard head unit. sorry if this sounds a lot to ask just fed up of listening to the standard system thanks in advance

to get to the rear speakers you have to:

take off the b& c pillar covers
Take out rear seats and bits out the boot
take off the while plastic trim
