Alarm Programming I am planning to install the Alarm system on my R56 2009 but I wonder if to have the programming done by a workshop that is not a dealership would void the warranty?
I called the dealership (Toronto Area, Canada) and they want to charge me $160 for the programming only, telling me it takes 2 hours. I called 2 workshops specialized in BMW/Mini and they ask me $80 and $90, which make much better sense. Any body had this experience? I believe the workshops use Autologic.
On my Mini 2005 on which I also installed the Alarm myself and just got it programmed at a dealership in US, it took them less than 1hr and they had to load an upgrade on the car which took more time as they had to find the Canadian upgrade (the Car was a Canadian version).
Also, I wonder if there is any way to program one-touch for the opening/Closing of the Sunroof? |
