Hi - I too would like to know where the CD changer cable is as about to trade in my 06 Cooper S Checkmate in for a 59 Cooper D. I am thinking of removing my MP3 changer from the boot of my S and installing it in my new car. Is it located in the secret compartment in the front or does it run to the back of the car?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon

In a new Cooper D the standard factory fit location is the secret compartment. Wish it was a DVD changer though!

Thanks for the response timp! Now the next question I have is can I use the existing connectors for my Sony Xplod 6 disc MP3 changer and just install into the secret glove compartment. I also have the existing cage which was installed to hold the changer in the back of the car will that fit in also?

Sorry to ask all these questions. If it is a no-go I will leave the changer in the car and just make use with the ipod connector!

Thanks

Simon

I dare say it wouldn't be possible, however, I've never looked into it - just can't see the wires running further than the compartment. However, the mini cd changer is mp3 compatible

Would you not get more cash by selling the changer on its own?

Sorry, can't answer if the Sony changer will work - I'd suspect not as the car would almost certainly need the dealer to code it for the changer, let alone any strange wiring issues. No idea about the Sony cage but the compartment isn't much bigger than the unit itself (from memory anyway!)
