Basic Bluetooth with USB question

Hi everyone

I have ordered a MINI JCW which is due in September. As part of the Chili Pack I get Basic Bluetooth with USB. I have got the dealer to give me a complimentary BMW Y cable because I have an iPhone 3G (not the 3G S) but I have a couple of questions (Please note I do not have the nav system or MFSW:

Will the iPhone 3G connect via bluetooth and allow me to access my contacts as well as make and receive calls using the radio/stereo controls (I am sure I have seen a little phone symbol on pictures)?

Will the BMW Y cable allow me to access the tracks (and see them on the radio display) on my iPhone and control them via the radio/stereo controls?

If anyone has any experience of this and could confirm either way I would really appreciate it.

One more question - will the Y cable also charge my iPhone as I can't seem to find a definitive answer in the forum?

as far as i know it should. cant confirm as i dont have one of the cables.

Yeah it should charge it BUT it wont be a quick charge like from an AC power source.

Also WHY didn't you go for the MFSW?!

I would really advice you go for it...
