Tried looking around the various threads on this website but could not find anything conclusive, just wondering if anyone else could provide more info. I have a Mini Cooper S 56 plate, specced with Bluetooth and Sat Nav and multi finction steering wheel. However I have been unable to activate/use the voice command option. When I press the voice activation button on the steering wheel it does not work. I have looked in the manual as well and this does not give much information on how to use, I'm not sure whether the option for this has been specd or if imdoing it wrong. Any help regarding this would be much appreciated.
In mine (with Nav etc) pressing the button on the wheel makes it go beep - you then say the first part of the command and it beeps again and you finish the command which it then repeats back to you (I think thats the process) but if you're not getting that initial beep then somethings not working - tried the dealer?
out of interest what model car is yours? the service guy from the dealership didnt have a clue and said "its quite complicated and hard to explain, so if you come in next time we can show you..." the usual garbage that they feed u. the only reason is because i had an courtesy car which had the voice activation command and it was quite easy just literally press a button and say command. any ideas if it comes included in a pack e.g chili pack or anything?
Cars a 59 plate Cooper D (Dooper) Mines got Chili plus a bunch of other stuff incl. media pack, Sat Nav. Have you got the manual? I've got a spec sheet somewhere that lists what options include what but can't find it right now....
As far as I can remember, voice control/activation is a (no cost) option with sat nav, so unless specifically ordered, your car most likely hasn't got it. The button is there on the multi-function steering wheel even if you don't have voice activation.
