JCW convertible 2010 - speaker rattle / buzz

Hi guys

I've been running my 2010 cabrio JCW for about 8 months now, and since new it has suffered from an annoying buzz / rattle from the passenger side rear speaker / trim panel, and it's particularly evident with music with deep bass. I have the HK hifi set up. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there an easy fix? I find that if I press hard onto the rear panel the vibration stops, so I wonder if it's a deadening / insulation problem, or a problem of a loose bit of trim inside the panel.

Thanks

Phil

I had this on my last MCS. After removing the trim (bit of a job), found it was one of the metal clips holding the trim to a metal edge of the bodywork vibrating. Took the clips off, stuck a strip of electicians tape along the metal edge, then refitted the clips, then the trim. Thankfully it worked!

So I took the car into the local dealer here in Lux, and under warranty they "changed all of the cables to the speakers". Can't understand how this would change the vibration and boominess, but it seemed to work. Today, playing a particularly bassy D'Angelo track, the booming is back. So, I clipped in the rear seat belts and, hey presto, problem solved. Obviously the issue was the seat belts just touching the trim and vibrating with the bass. I recall the seat belts were clipped in when the car came out of the dealer but hadn't made much of it. How stupid did I feel
