United-Kingdom Help Needed - Newbie - Genuine Bluetooth - Hands Free - MFSW?

Hi Guys / Girls,

I'm new to the forum; and new to owning a MINI, I wonder if you can help me?

I have a R56 MINI Cooper S with MFSW and Satellite Navigation. I would like to add bluetooth to my car and wondered if there is a 'genuine' way to do this that would allow full control and display my address book, incoming calls etc on my display unit?

I have had a look around the forum and from what I have seen it looks like a Parrot 9200 would be an option... However, I would really like to have it all through my display and avoid a 3rd party system.

I hope someone can advise?

Thanks in advance.

R56 Bluetooth Retrofit

There is an official retrofit. I got the following info from an official Mini Bulletin on the Mini USA website:

Bluetooth retrofit kit (6ND)
65 41 2 152 530

$209.95

This detail does allow UK dealers to track down and order the kit onthe UK system and its around £160 (inc VAT but not fitted). It is for R55, R56 built after 03/2007 and R57.

Now, the problem with is that the same bulletin states that the installation also requires the handsfree charging electronics control module which costs an additional $429 ( and about the same in £!).

Next thing is the fitting and coding. The installation time stated is in the region of 3 hours but if you are going o get the dealer to do it, make sure you get given a definitive on this.

All in, the cost quoted to me by dealers has varied between £850 and £1100 supplied and fitted!

Good luck!!!!
