MCS Navigation Activation Code and Mappacks

I did post this in general but I guess it is more appropriate here and I might be more likely to get a response:

Hi all,

I just took delivery of my MCS R56 2011 with full bluetooth and mini connected sat nav but it requires an activation code on the navigation screen.

My dealer has sent me a 20 digit alphanumeric code but it does not seem to work. I've trawled Google and Mini2 looking for any posts relevant to this but it seems that for 99.9999% of people the sat nav is already activated by the dealer when they get their car.

I will call the dealer today but can anyone comment what this code should look like? I did read one post somewhere that said its a five digit code?

Also, regarding maps, does anyone know what maps the system has installed - world, Europe, home country, home town? If it is home town or country only, how do you install other maps/mappacks.

Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for the Bluetooth code, it's usually set on your phone. If its the Nav code, go to your dealer

Very useful site on all things BMW/MINI Nav. There is a post on BMW Nav keys etc.

EDIT: Obviously you have official codes so your dealer should support you in case they don't work. The link above may come handy whenever you intent to upgrade, say next year...
