Upgrading speakings and adding amp

I want to upgrade the speakers and add an amp to my R56 cooper s (07) stereo. Does anyone know of any hi-fi shops based in Essex that could do this and know what they are doing on a mini?

what system do you have in it at the moment..

do you have the tweeters in the front pillars?

I'd rather push my mini than drive a ford or anything french..

Criteria for buying a diesel..1)long journeys.2)motorway miles.3)minimum 14k mls per yr..

Nothing at the moment, just the standard boost CD player and standard speakers which aren't very good.

I agree - I reckon this is quite a popular request as the R56 sound system is rubbish! I have MINI Boost CD and the bass response is lacking, you turn it up and well it's horrible!

I have a feeling the speakers aren't the issue its the headunit it self. Is there a way of putting an amp in to gain more power or something like that?

Audio knowledge is limited much like everyone else probably so keep it simple please

From what I've been researching its a nightmare to try and change the actual unit and a lot of people have just added amps and speakers etc.

Yer I wanna know how they had a cassette deck (single din) in Ms Theron's R56 Coop in the movie Young Adult???

For the record behind the plastic covers in the boot are perfect for amps That's where I had my PDX4-100 amp in my R50.
