| Seat retrim question.... Hi guys wanna get my seats re upholstered in leather got someone who will do it but wants to no more about the seat airbags! Has anyone got any opinions or experience of this? Its an 04 R52 mini one cabrio.  |

| I think you would need to carefully copy the original side seam stitching on the original seats where the side airbag module is situated. It is designed to give way easily allowing the airbag to inflate and expand. The Airbag system (for models with side airbags) "The system use a special stitching technique that opens at just the right moment to allow the airbag to inflate. When the airbag inflates, it rips open the special tear seam to ensure your safety at all times. Its operation has tested by TUV and approved by the KBA (Federal Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Drivers in Germany."
