Canada What is this wiring harness for? Hopefully the stock stereo?

I'm installing an amp and sub in the back of my R56 mini and found this connector... Not sure what it is.. Located on the passenger side, in the trunk area near the tail light. Can it be used to connect to the amp instead of buying a line output converter to attach to the rear speakers? I know I'll have to take out the backseat and almost everything to get to them..

I'm currently building a custom box to house an infiniti perfect 10 and a MTX TC4002.

All help appreciated!

Not sure about the shape of that one.

My 02 Coop had the exact same thing but it was a green coloured connector pre-wired for the CD Changer. It mounts to the passenger side (US/Canada etc, drivers side in Aus & UK) so you can plug it straight in, no coding or cabling required.

That's what I thought originally, but its in the back of the car, near the tail lights. I don't have the Harmon Kardon upgrade, could I be used for that?

What colour are the wires to it?
I will look it up later and see if I can find in on the wiring diagram if someone else doesnt have an answer before.

The Harman Kardon upgrade is a lot more serious. It has a digital amp mounted in the dash behind the speedo and beefed up speakers.

To be honest you can plug anything you like into it, it's your car but if it's not what the connector is meant for you risk blowing things up. And I don't know your car so I can't confirm for sure. But I do know that yes, mine was in the boot (under the carpet), and that's where the CD changer is installed, and it's pre-wired into the back of the stereo. Hooking up anything other than the appropriate stacker would risk damage to the stereo. Plus if you randomly connect your amp to a connector you found in the boot there's no knowing what's going to come out of it

Have a read. Mine came with the harness and the plugs I found are the ones labelled A1 and A2.

There's 4 wires going in, one is bright green, brown and blue, red and blue and one that's wrapped up. Here's a new pick with them all.

It's unused, I'm thinking it's for an option I don't have. It's a 2009 mini cooper non-s. I have heated seats as the only option.

Attached is a new pic, thanks again for your help everyone!

The only thing I can see with those colour wires is satellite receiver/roof antenna, in other words for the sat nav option??
