Hello all - this is my first post...and my first problem with my Mini
I have a UK 59 plate Mini Cooper D. Have owned it from new and had the audio option factory fitted to enable iPhone use through the snap in adapter. My iPhone is a 3GS and I am using the latest iOS.
I purchased a snap in adapter (model 84 21 2 158 683 01) when I took delivery of the car and I have had faultless use of all iPhone functionality through using the snap in adapter (phonebook, music controlled from the steering wheel/radio console etc). The iPhone was available to select from the Audio menu (where it says Tuner, USB etc) as "iPhone").
I took the adapter out yesterday and snapped it back in straight away and now the iPhone music elements will not work in the same way (or at all!). The phonebook and phone work etc, charges fine. Just no option now to select "iPhone" from the Audio menu.
Has anyone ever experienced this before?? I can only guess that there is some software compatibility issue (AFAIK never had the Mini software updated, unless they do this when it goes to Mini for service etc). I can't work out how to update the software either on my own - no option to update in the menu on the car menu.
My only option is to probably call the dealer but why on earth would taking the snap in adapter out and putting it back in (the only thing I did!!) stop it from working?!
Thanks in advance for any help or advice
