Can I display live mpg and digital speedo?

I have a recently purchased Sep 2007 R56 Cooper S with navigation. One of the thing that annoys me is that I can’t have a live fuel economy figure in the bottom display in the binnacle at the same time as a digital speedo figure in the upper display.

I recently had a 2012 One Clubman as a courtesy car and noticed that I could actually have both displays on at the same time in that. Is it something that has just been changed on the newer cars, is it something to do with the fact my car has navigation and is it fixable?

If you scroll through the menu with the button on the indicator stalk you should be able to display it. I have a 60 plate Cooper D Convertible and the options I get are Temp, average MPG, average speed, current MPG and something else I think. You can only have one of these but the bigger display further up on the rev counter still shows the digital MPH.

60 plate and newer you can, part of the lci (facelift model) is that mph is allways shown. Unfortunately Pre facelift this is not possible
