Mood Lighting Auto Cycle Upon Door Opening

Hi Guys,

In my '12 R56, when I open the door, the Ambient Mood Lighting cycles through all of the colors before stopping on the color I have selected. Is there a way to turn this off? I'd like for it to come on with the color I have selected ONLY. When you unlock the car and open the door before inserting the key. My car cycles through all the colors once before stopping on the color I have selected. Then it stays put. Is there a way to turn this off, so it only displays the selected color?

It is naff (US: cheesy), isn't it?

If you go for the default light green colour, the lights don't cycle first - or put it another way, maybe it always starts at light green so if you choose that, there's no cycling.

Or at least my car didn't cycle when I got it, when it was set on the default colour, but it's started cycling since I changed the colour.

Hi guys'n'gals,

Is there a way of upgrading the ambient lighting to the new version as my 07 mcs only goes from blue to orange i think. And I want the green that the new ones have

my new sd cycles through the colours on un-locking. this is how it came. i quite like to be honest.

Mines set on blue and stays on blue, never cycles.
I can select another colour and it will stay on whatever is chosen.

I have a 59 plate R56 MCS and mine doesn't cycle ( also less colour options )
My wife has a 12 plate R56 One and hers does cycle, I believe the 'face lift' models come with more colours and cycle options ( amoungst other tweaks ).

BTW - noticed they changed those stupid heater controls from rotate up / down using nothing to grip!

And made the silver bits black so they dont look so cheap.
I dont mind silver, but that was a cheap plasticky silver, bit like youd find in Barbies convertible.
