IPHONE 5 arm rest Cradle available ?

Hi all,

i have an R56 cooper S, and wondered if anyone has purchased under arm cradle that works with the Iphone 5, so i can charge and listen to my music through the mini audio console??

or is it possible to purchase a 4 OR 4S cradle and just use the new charging adaptor

Hi,

I don't believe the iPhone 5 candle is available yet. The 4/4S cradle won't work with a 5 as it won't fit.

I would expect to see a BMW/Mini cradle by mid 2013. From what I understand its not as easy as them just changing the size and socket, there's some hefty software changes too.

I'm holding off getting the iPhone 5 until the cradle is released. I think the hands free setup in the mini is superb with the cradle, so don't want to be without it.

I called BMW mini in blackpool were my closest dealer is

they said it was to be on sale by 4th quater 2013 !!!

seems a bit too late as there will no doubt be a newer iphone by then

surely it should be on sale now?

anyway looks like dual cable for now then

Or you could get another phone! I use my Samsung Galaxy S3 & can connect through the USB to charge & act as a USB drive. Phone calls come in through Bluetooth. Hey & it works right now

i prob just go with the cable for now

Too much hassle to pick up another iPhone plus it will cost a lot more than the £40 lead to get a second hand one.

Lots of people upgrading to iPhone 5 so I managed to pick up a secondhand 3GS media cradle (have media+nav+full bluetooth) for £20 and a 3GS 32gb for £90 on eBay and got a 500mb Vodafone data sim for £5 per month on a rolling contract (for mini connected) and leave permanently in the armrest. Main iPhone use via bluetooth when in the car.

Cost less than a new cradle will be for iPhone 5 and no wait.
