Just searched the forum and cant find any guide on how to remove the interior dash and door trim.
I am not talking about the dash trim that is usually silver/black/carbon/ etc (the stuff behind the rev meter, and the secret compartment). I am talking about the trim just below that, the trim where the button for opening the glovebox is, and the slot for the key fob? If you dont know what i mean, please let me know I will send picutres with areas marked.
With door trim, I mean the elipitical rings around the doors.
In some minis both these trims are in leather or some other material, mine is just plain plastic and I want to get it upholstered with leather (have firend that does miracles with leather).
I looked through the forum and found great guides with picutres for the 1st gen, but nothing for the second?
Please help! I really dont dare tackle it alone, as I have done this with my last car and ended up with an interior that looked like somebody locked a dozen chimps with screwdrivers in the car.
Worked like a charm, first result on google, thanks a lot!
On the other hand... good lord this looks like a lot of work, and needs extra care not to break all the bloody plastic! I was expecting "now remove the engine in order to access the screw on the back of the trim" during the guide. So many things to remove and ba careful.
I think i'll just buy some cheap glue, get a sharp surgeon knife and cut out a piece i need off a cow somewhere in the fields outside of town.
Thanks a lot for showing me this, will definitely not tackle it anytime soon!
cheers
