USB issues

Hi there, I picked up my used 2012 Hot Chocolate S 3 weeks agao. Lots of fun but 1 major issue, the USB keeps cutting out. Anyone else have this problem ? Any solutions ? Also there is no lights by the ipod adapter port which sucks. There is a hole there for the led but the dealer told me they addition of the led light in the center console by the USB/ipod adapter was in later models! True ? Anyone know if it can be retro-fitted ?

Also try a different memory stick, to ensure that the problem is not the stick
