Bluetooth OBD iPhone connection - MINI Cooper Forum

Has anyone tried one of the cheap OBD readers that connect to an iphone via bluetooth? I'd like to try it in my R56 Min.

I bought one on Amazon for around $25.

It doesn't connect to the Bluetooth on my iPhone4 though. I would have had to download a special app from the Apple store, but it was pretty expensive. I have a laptop and another smartphone that did connect fine. And for both I downloaded a simple free reader and they worked great.
