mini visual boost is it possible to update

just bought a 2010 mini one diesal which has visual boost just wondering is there any updates for this since 2010 and if so is it possible to update and will i get any new features ?

Yes you can, visit MINI's 'connectivity' page and download the file there. When I did mine, it only updated the 'TX' version and not the 'MX'.. Not sure why..

This DIY update will only affect the combox, not the HU itself. There are updates for the HU and also combox updates that affect elements the DIY won't touch as it is primarily aimed at improving external device connectivity. These are dealer-only.

And the link is literally the first Google result when you search for "MINI" and "Connectivity"...

hi thanks for this, will the dealer update this and are there any updates from 2010 that are worth updating for ?

They will if there is a good reason. My dealer did update Combox and HU under warranty as I had issues with Mission Control via the app. The updates helped.

It's not a smartphone. You won't get new features or new looks so unless you have a problem, don't bother. The DIY update makes sense and only needs a USB stick. The fact that it goes into the central console USB port is proof that it only affects the combox. The visual boost just helps as a UI.
