R57 Raio not turning on with ignition

We've recently purchased a 2010 Cooper S Cabrio with factory Sat Nav and Harman Kardon sound.

I'm sure that when we picked it up that the radio came on automatically when you started the car. However, it now it comes up with the icon on the dash (sound with the dash through it) and you have to press the systems on button for the radio to work.

Is this normal or have we altered a setting (I can't find anything to fix it however).

I know you can program the key to set some personal preferences including the radio station. Check the owner's manual on how to do this, I came across it when I was scanning the manual the other week.
