06 S, Aircon not cold

Pressing the "*" button and selecting "MAX" so the display reads "LOW" produces lots of fan noise, but only ambient temp air...

The engine idle drops a little and then picks up.
I cannot hear the clutch engaging.

I suppose if there is a lack of gas, then the pressure switch will not allow the clutch to engage?

Looking to get the system vac'd, dye tested and gassed.

Anyone had a similar issue?

Sounds like classic no aircon gas, possibly holed condensor.

That is what I thought. Many thanks. Will get a specialist to check it all out.

Resolved.

Took the car to my aircon guy who pushed some gas in it, leak tested it, then vacuum'd, then vac tested it. All good. So the gas was escaping through the rubber hoses and it seems the PO was not bothered about getting it tested and regassed.

Once filled with gas and oil, it was spun up and the air con was nice and cold. Job jobbed.
