2010 Nav does not show "software update" what now?

I just bought my first Mini today. A beautiful 2010 S Convertible w nav.

I was trying to update the software so I can use my iPhone 5 but the Mini site simply says:

"The software update is available only for certain
vehicles equipped with a USB audio interface. In
these vehicles, the main menu ‘Settings’ includes the
menu item ‘Software update’."

But it gives no info on what to do if it DOES NOT say it. Mine does not.

what are my options? Am I SOL?

Are you looking at the MINI.com - MINI Connectivity updates?
There is a compatibility check page on that link - maybe try that to check
My late 2009 Cooper D only seemed to update via a Nav DVD, don't remember doing anything with USB. That came with my 2013 Cooper SD.

Rauls4, I have gone through this same process, but haven't yet found a solution. Did you?
